Jeff Anderson
Trial Attorney
From 2010 to 2013, Jeff Anderson studied to become a trial lawyer at Texas Tech University School of Law in Lubbock, Texas. During that time, he trained to become a lawyer by learning from talented lawyers in Lubbock and Amarillo:
Jeff then graduated summa cum laude near the top of his class. Perhaps more importantly he developed many lifelong friendships during this time at Texas Tech Law and you could often find him and his law school friends hunting dove together up in Muleshoe at a friend’s family farm or in small farming communities near Lubbock where landowners would generously accept a case of beer and allow the group of law students to take a break from the law library to hunt Sandhill Crane and various waterfowl.
Jeff went on to join AM Law 50 firm Holland & Knight’s litigation section where he quickly rose to the rank of Partner in the giant law firm with over 2,000 lawyers, more than 30 offices, and over a billion dollars in annual revenue. At Holland & Knight, Jeff helped clients from a variety of industries including Electric Cooperatives and Power Companies; Oil & Gas Companies; Healthcare Insurers; Finance Companies; and various others with cases that could range up to hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars in dispute.
Recently, Jeff decided it was time to get back to the basics of what is truly important to him. He teamed up with his childhood friend and old Texas A&M undergrad roommate, trial lawyer Maverick Ray. Together, they now represent individuals and businesses who have been wronged and are in need of help. Together, Jeff and Maverick are helping individuals, farmers, ranchers and businesses throughout the Texas Panhandle who have been harmed by the wildfires which appear to have been caused by XCEL Energy Services, Southwestern Public Service Company, and Osmose Utility Services, Inc.
Trial work is not only Jeff’s career but also his passion. He finds purpose and meaning in helping people who are facing long odds in a fight against giant companies and insurance companies that too often make decisions based on how they will impact their bottom line rather than finding a way to do the right thing for people who have been impacted by their actions. By representing their clients on a contingency fee basis, people who need help face no out of pocket cost to hire trial lawyers to fight for them and only pay legal fees out of their damages recovery following a trial verdict or settlement.
When not at the courthouse, you can find Jeff at his beloved Yo-leven Ranch with his wife, son, infant daughter and their livestock guardian dogs Charlie and Millie. There he loves to join the ranch manager “Mr. David” as he works the cattle, puts out hay bales and feed, and exercises the children’s mini-horses. Jeff has learned first-hand how difficult life can be for people in the agriculture industry. Between droughts, the price of hay and diesel, and increasing insurance premiums, there is always a challenge to face. But when someone’s negligence destroys everything you have built, you need a team on your side to help you get the compensation you need in order to fund the long process of re-building.
